Crossedpost from SBHA
The School-Based Health Alliance presents the 2021 Spring and Summer Education Series for School-Based Health Care Professionals, starting March 16, 2021, and runs through August 31, 2021. As the pandemic keeps us from our traditional convention, we will offer multiple sessions and workshops virtually over the next five months, allowing for increased participation and low-cost CE opportunities. The Series addresses the field’s priority topics, building the sessions based on suggestions from the SBHC field. We will kick off the Series with two Listen and Learn Sessions, one on Immunizations and one on Mental Health. We will continue the educational Series through the spring and summer (see dates and topics below.) The first session, held on March 16, was a great success! It is not too late register for the next nine sessions! Continuing education is made possible through the Weitzman Institute, the research, education, and innovation arm of the Community Health Center, Inc. The 2021 Spring and Summer Education Series will have up to 10 credits available. For every session you attend and evaluate, you will receive a credit. If you attend all 10 sessions and complete your evaluation, you will get 10 credits. If you do not need professional CEs, you may opt to receive a certificate of completion for the session(s) you attend and evaluate. The Series has a one-time fee of $50.00 for 1-10 CE or certificate of completion. There is no prorated rate for less than 10 sessions. In support of improving patient care, this activity was planned and implemented by the School-Based Health Alliance and Community Health Center, Inc./Weitzman Institute and is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Additional CE credits are available for dentists, physician assistants, psychologists, and social workers. 2021 Spring and Summer Series Dates and Topics: Session #2: March 30 – Listen and Learn: Mental Health Session #3: April 7 – Trauma Informed Care Session #4: April 21 – Mental Health Session #5: May 5 – Innovative Assessment and Clinical Care in Telehealth Session #6: May 19 – Outreach, Engagement, & Resource Connection Strategies Session #7: June 16 – Reaching More Students Better: QI in Telehealth Session #8: June 30 – Telehealth PlayBook Session #9: July 21 – Child Trends Reproductive Health Session #10: August 4 – Reaching and Treating Diverse Patient Populations (tentative title) All sessions are 60 minutes from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. EDT.
