February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

According to the 2015 YRBS, 10% of US high school students who reported being in a relationship had experienced physical violence at the hands of their partner within the last year. For more information on teen dating violence, including resources for providers and for teens, visit Love is Respect. For those in the social media sphere, use and/or track the following hashtags during the month of February (and beyond!) #teenDVmonth and #loveisrespect.

  1. When I was doing my DV research this popped up and i’m so glad! My first relationship was extremely abusive. It definitely shaped how I viewed men and relationships for the rest of my life. I recently made a video on the importance of parent involvement and the need for support. Thanks for sharing this I will share on my blog!
