On October 28, 2016 we will bid farewell to Katie Johnson, Manager of Student Health Services at Seattle Public Schools. Katie’s passion and dedication to her work has been felt far and wide during her tenure at Seattle Public Schools.
Katie’s next professional adventure will lead her to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation where she will pursue a project to “magentize school health services.” As Katie says, “In hospitals, the Magnet Model has identified key indicators that promote quality patient care measuring nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice. As health care moves into the community and siloes of care are dismantled, a consistent standard for school health delivery programs is needed to assure a holistic, child-centered health care system and appropriate care coordination across practice settings.” She attributes the successes during her tenure to the strong teamwork among Student Health Services staff.
Please joining us in thanking Katie for her contributions to Seattle Public Schools and in wishing her well in this next phase of her career!
